Spring Into Music And Nature In Entertainment News

MANSFIELD, OH -  The Mansfield Symphony Chorus, under the direction of Larry Griffen, will present it's inaugural spring choral concert titled, "Sing Into Spring" Sunday, April 30, at 2:30 p.m.

The concert will be held at First Congregational Church on Millsboro Road in Mansfield and will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of the chorus since local conductor Dick Wink founded it.  Wink will conduct a piece during the concert.

Although tickets are not mandatory for this event, there is a suggested $10 donation at the door.

The 16th annual Mohican Wildlife Weekend is back - a great opportunity, rain or shine, to get back to the great outdoors.  The celebration every April reminds us of the natural wildlife we have and such rich history in our location in Ohio.    

There will be nine sites celebrating, including:  Mohican Outdoor School, Gorman Nature Center, Malabar Farm State Park & Lodge, Wolf Creek Grist Mill in Loudonville and Ohio Bird Sanctuary, just to name a few.  Additional details can be found online at:mohicanwildlifeweekend dot com.

The Ashland University Choir, Chamber Singers and Women’s Chorus will present a spring choral concert program during a, “Choral Collage Concert” on Sunday, April 30th, in the Jack and Deb Miller Chapel.

The program will cover an eclectic mix from American compositions to spirituals and a cappella pieces too.  The concert begins at 4 p.m.  

Dr. Rowland Blackley, professor of Music and director of Choral Activities, will conduct the University Choir and Chamber Singers. The Women's Chorus, directed by Kimberly Wolbert, will also perform.  

The event is free and open to the public.

And, she's back to perform this weekend in Mansfield - Ohio's hottest female country rock band, The Jessica Hannan Band. She will perform Saturday night, April 29th, from 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. at The Backroom Bar, Laver Road, in Mansfield.
