Knox Co. Sheriff's Office Announce Arrest Of Kevin Remillard

GAMBIER, OH - The Knox County Sheriff's Office has arrested 48-year-old Kevin Remillard of 405 Gaskin Avenue in Gambier, a suspect in the death of 20-year-old Nick Remillard, who also lives at the residence and was found deceased behind the house Sunday.

Law enforcement officers have announced Kevin Remillard is in police custody.

Remillard turned himself into police, accompanied by Knox County Public Defender John Pyle. He is currently incarcerated in the Knox County Jail.

Remillard is a suspect in the death of 20-year-old Nick Remillard, who also lives at the residence and was found deceased behind a home in Gambier, Sunday.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, officers with K9 units checked fields and wooded areas surrounding the Gaskin St. residence.

Officers did not have specific information the suspect made threats directed at the general public.

Remillard at the time was believed to have been in possession of a handgun and was considered to be armed and dangerous.

At approximately 12:30 p.m.  Sunday, officers responded to the area of 405 Gaskin Avenue to check on the welfare of Kevin Remillard.

An acquaintance in the area discovered a note in his driveway along with some of Kevin’s property.

Officers were unable to locate Kevin or his cousin, Nick Remillard, at the residence.

When officers discovered a possible crime scene inside the house, they secured the area and obtained a search warrant.

The Bureau of Criminal Identification was also contacted for assistance in the investigation.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Nick Remillard, who also lives at 405 Gaskin Avenue, was discovered by officers deceased in an abandoned pool behind the house. He appears to have suffered a gunshot wound.

The investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Knox County Coroner’s Office and BCI.
