Richland County Foundation Awards Over $684,000 In Grants

MANSFIELD, OH -M The Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees approved over $684,000 in grants to area nonprofit organizations during its June meeting.

Projects at area nonprofit organizations that received grants from a combination of unrestricted, donor advised and field of interest funds include:

American Red Cross, Volunteer Recruitment; Flying Horse Farms, Summer Camp for children with serious illness; Foundation Center, Nonprofits Programs at the -MansfieldRichland County Public Library; Friendly House, Activities for Everyone including a lift for the swimming pool; Mansfield Area Y, Water Splash Park; Mansfield City Schools, Guided Reading Text Books; Mohican School in the Out of Doors, Farm to Table; Richland Academy of the Arts, Music Department expansion; Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, Helping Hands for Richland County residents; Team Focus Ohio Chapter, Summer Leadership Camp for Richland County boys.

The Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees approved grants from donor advised funds to meet emerging needs to the following organizations:

Avita Health Foundation, Akron Children’s Hospital, Artis Naples, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boy Scouts of America, Crawford County Economic Development, Denison University, Discovery School, First Congregational Church, Friends of Gorman Nature Center, Friendly House, Galion Center YMCA, Little Buckeye Children’s Museum, Lucas Community Center, Mansfield Art Center, Mansfield City Schools, Mansfield Men’s Garden Club, Mansfield Playhouse, Mankind Murals, NAMI, NCH Healthcare System, Neos, North Central Ohio Land Conservancy, North Central State College, North Central State College Foundation, North End Community Improvement Collaborative, Ohio Bird Sanctuary, Ohio State University, Ohio State University-Mansfield, Ohio State University School of Medicine, Pioneer Career and Technology Center, Renaissance Theatre, Plymouth Local Schools, Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Richland Community Development Group, Richland Newhope, Reinhardt University, Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio, Salvation Army of Mansfield, Shadowcliff Mountain Lodge, Team Focus Ohio Chapter, and United Way of Richland County.

The Richland County Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization, was established in 1945 as a way for individuals to pool and invest their gifts for the long-term good of Richland County and its residents.

The Foundation helps people in Richland County give back to their community by investing their gifts for charity wisely so that grants can be made to improve the quality of life for all of the county’s citizens. Working together with donors, the Foundation meets important needs today and plans for a strong future.
