Powell, Ohio Woman Dies From Injuries In Motorcycle Accident

MARION, OH - A Powell, Ohio woman died from injuries she received in a weekend crash on Ohio 98 in Scott Township in Marion County.

The Marion State Highway Patrol says 60-year-old Cheryl Hollinger died from her injuries after being taken to Marion General Hospital.

She was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by 50-year-old Paul Hollinger, also of Powell.

The patrol says Paul Hollinger was traveling westbound on Ohio when a deer attempted to cross the roadway.

The motorcycle struck the deer and eventually slid off the left side of the road and came to rest in a ditch.

Neither rider was wearing a safety helmet and Paul Hollinger was also taken to Marion General Hospital.

The Marion County Sheriff's Department, Marion Township EMS, and First Consolidated EMS, all were on the scene to assist.

The crash remains under investigation.
