Claudette M. Gray, 73, of Mansfield, passed away late Saturday evening, September 9, 2017, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Born June 17, 1944, in Mansfield, Ohio, to A.E. and Wanda (Snyder) Hill.

Claudette grew up on the family farm in Weller Twp, graduated from Union High School in 1962 and was a part of the last graduating class before it merged with Crestview Schools. She was an English major at Ashland College. She moved to Cleveland then Akron and spent her working years there as a homemaker, real estate agent, and sales professional. After her retirement in 2013, Claudette moved back to Mansfield. She enjoyed dancing and traveling with friends, especially to Indians' away games. Her favorite trip was in 2010 when she accompanied her uncle, whom she was named after, on his Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. She was a wonderful baker and made the best traditional family Christmas cookies.

She is survived by a daughter, Denise Porter (Rick Hannon); son, John Porter; brother, Herbert Hill (Merilee Thome); and uncle, Claudie P. Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents. 

A private family graveside service will be observed at Mansfield Cemetery at a later date. Wappner Cremation Center is privileged to serve the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pat Kracker Breast Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 3552, Mansfield, OH 44907.
